Before making her stamp on the Charlotte theatre scene, Glynnis O'Donoghue honed her artistic chops at Davidson College. There, apart from graduating with a B.A. in Theatre, Glynnis took advantage of the singular opportunity to train with resident actors and directors from the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Since then Glynnis has been lauded for her work in comedy and drama, and has proven her versatility time and again through magnetic turns in her recent roles such as Jessica in Women Playing Hamlet, Molly in Smell of the Kill, and Carnelle in The Miss Firecracker Contest. To keep her skills sharp and to cut loose, Glynnis preforms with the comedy groups Improv Charlotte and The Know It Alls. The latter is an improv duo that debuted at the first ever Queen City Comedy Festival in 2018.
In 2015, Glynnis' deep connection with artistic community of "the Queen City" led her to join donna scott productions. Working as an actor, director, and producer with dsp allowed her to engage with the Charlotte community through theatre productions which address questions of gender and feminism.
With the XOXO ensemble Glynnis worked to push the limits of contemporary performance in productions which bring novel, often disparate modes of thespianism to challenge the audience to diversify and alter their own perception.
Most recently Glynnis has begun to work as a writer and podcast producer- she is excited to begin this new chapter in her creative life and find her voice and viewpoint.
