Summer Collaboration with Taproot

Summer Collaboration with Taproot

It's been a hot, creative summer here in Charlotte! I've just finished working on a unique collaboration with local performance ensemble, Taproot. I worked with this amazing group of women to create a performance piece that happened within an art installation in a local co-working space. The show we made is called "Queenie's Farewell Block Party" - it's an interactive theatre piece that deals with issues of growth, gentrification, and the people of Charlotte.  I'm really proud of this show, and thrilled to have my first professional writing gig under my belt!

Check out the review by Dora Blaskievich of clture.org here. If you're in the area, we have one more week of shows this Thursday, 8/18 through Saturday 8/20. (Photo credit: Micha Cash.)

My next project starts right away, so stay tuned for more updates about that soon!
